High school football...new thread....

Honistly I will be suprised if GC is "Down" again this year. Parks played with one wheel and most of there team wil be back this year. I am not ready to pick GC as the CMD champ just yeat but I think that they may have to be the Favorit comming into the season (I was thinking of going with Lebanon but if they lost 15 starters off last years team then reload or rebuild beating out GC VaHigh and what I think will be a solid Lee team will be tough)

IMHO Battle is the only "Bad" team in that district (Football wise)

I know we have had a few Lebanon posters on her in the past what can any of you guys tell us about what Lebanon has returning (I was under the impression that they were a young team last season and returning all/most there skill positions?)

I think you're right. The 1st 4 spots will be a toss up if Lee is where they could be with their team. GC will have last year's injuries behind them and prolly have the best QB/RB tandem in the CMD. VaHigh and Lebanon will both be contenders...and JBS will prolly be the whippin boy. We'll see.

I would like to see what everyone has back. I know GC is going to be thin on the line and small in the backfield.

O Backfield - Tyler Parks (RB) 3 year starter, Peyton Jenkins (RB) returning starter, Jordan Estepp (FB) 2 year starter, Tihlee Anderson (QB) returning starter. New comers Cody Hensley (FB) Seth Clark (RB)

O Line - Quinton Jones (OT) returning starter, Seth Musick (C) 3 year starter, Matt Bays (TE) returning starter, Jason Begley (OG) Part time starter, Brad Brown and Josh Powers saw some action and both will be seniors.

LB's - Eric Hutchins, Cameron Browder, Jason Begley, and Jordan Estepp all returning starters.

D Line - Josh Powers 2 year starter, Brad Brown limited action, Quinton Jones part time starter, Tyler Tiller returning starter.

DB's - Dustin Jones, Dustin Faulkner, Tihlee Anderson, and Tyler Parks all returning starters. Jones, Parks and Andersons are 2 year starters.

Kicker - Ked Byrd will be a junior looking for his 3rd year of starting. He could get pushed by his younger brother Logan (FR) for the job. Center on special teams will be Seth Musick with Tihlee Anderson as the holder.

Will Jamey Hackney return to be the QB? If he does look out! Anderson would be deadly on the corners as a wing back. Hackney was slated to be the QB last year before an injury sidelined him before the season got started.

Coaching - Nick is looking around in Tennessee but hasn't received any offers. Who will be next in line?

If he really works at it... you will be seeing Freshman Logan Byrd kicking at the Division I level by the time he graduates. Last year as an 8th grader, I personally witnessed him kick a 45 yard FG in practice.... the kick has great technique and a great boot.

I would put Hackney in as QB... I would put Parks in as FB and I would put Anderson in as tailback. Anderson can see the creases in the line and Parks if he is healthy and ready to go... he is gonna plow someone. Hackney is a natural athlete with a great arm and looks like someone that could really surprise people at that position... he also has better height as well to see over the defense. Bays at tight end is a huge target. Even the Estepp kid would be great at fullback to clear the way for Anderson instead of Parks. He is hard nosed. The Devils have some potential.... they just have to have that unselfish ability to function as a unit and know that when one does great they all do great.

GC will have a good problem of having quite a few kids who can tote the rock. The biggest question is how good will their line be IMO. Lining up in a fullhouse backfield with Jenkins, Parks, Estepp, and with Dustin Jones (I think that was his name) back would allow them to run some power, and with Tihlee at QB a lot of option plays.

I promise you that during that time period, V-High has played a MUCH HARDER schedule than Lebanon. If Lebanon had played the same teams as V-High, their record would be nowhere near 41-16.

"Personally" I am not a V-High fan and have never been known to "take up" for them...but what I stated is fact...
